Global Green USA Green School Makeover Competition Presented by Pureology

Every child deserves a learning environment that’s safe, comfortable and free of harmful toxins. Unfortunately, many schools across the country lack the funds to carry out much-needed repairs and renovations—subjecting children to outdated facilities with improper ventilation, poor lighting and inefficient energy usage. Global Green USA is working to address this situation and ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn in a healthy, green school. The Green School Makeover Competition, presented by Pureology is a program that will select a school entered into the competition to receive a green makeover. Green schools have proven to lead to improved student performance, test scores can improve by a whooping 20%, and attendance rises. It also provides more funds for student resources by saving on cost of water and energy. Most importantly it reduces our carbon footprint.  This program is important to me because I have children in school and would like nothing but the best for them. Increased test scores, and better health will lead to a prosperous future. Plus we will be helping save Mother Earth. I entered this competition because I live in Arkansas which already ranks as a bottom feeder of education. I would love for my son's school received this makeover, and help make his future a little brighter (with natural lighting, of course)!  I encourage you to enter you child's school as well.
